IHS: Welcome, K Wendt! We are happy to have you with us today. Would you please tell our followers who you are, what city you're from?

K Wendt: I am K Wendt and I live in Central Texas

IHS: What are the titles of the books you completed with us?

K Wendt: Emma's Journey and Susie

IHS: So, tell us, what was your favorite part about bringing your books to audiobook life?

K Wendt: I enjoyed listening to my story being read and enjoyed by the narrator as they went. It was almost like writing the book again as I visualized the scenes they were reading.

IHS: That is so true! Whether fiction or non-fiction, books are truly inspired work from authors.  What were your inspirations for your books?

K Wendt: For Emma, I just wanted to tell a story that I had been trying to tell for many years. It was my true moment of authorship so to speak because for me, writing a novel is harder than writing children’s books. For Susie, I just wanted to write a story about a daddy/daughter relationship. I consider myself to be a daddy’s girl. So, in some ways, that’s me in the story.

IHS: Having stories to tell is truly inspirational and being able to actually get those stories out there is quite an achievement! Ok, next, is your primary business writing?  If so, what do you do for fun?  If not, what do you do “in real life”?

K Wendt: I am actually quite fortunate to say that yes, writing is my primary business. I have been able to make being an author, helping other authors on their projects, and working part time in a bookstore my “career”. I thoroughly enjoy it. IHS: That is amazing - having a "career" and being able to do what you love and help others along the way! Ok, moving on - many authors are not audiobook listeners by nature.  Are you?  Have you ever listened to an audiobook before your own?

K Wendt: I enjoy audio books! I especially like it when the narrator gets into what they are reading!

IHS: Narrators are highly talented people and they do bring characters to life, don't they? Ok, when you were listening to your narrator auditions, what was it like to hear your book get voiced by different people?

K Wendt: That was an interesting experience. I almost felt snobby as I listened to the auditions because some of them I would turn off right away when I could tell they didn’t fit the story well.

IHS: You knew what you wanted and you picked the perfect narrators. And, what were you most worried about when starting out with this audiobook process?  Did the worry happen or was it unjustified?

K Wendt: I didn’t have any worries. Having met Kimberly (I’m Hearing Stories) in person, I knew my audiobook was in very capable hands.

IHS: Thanks for your confidence in us. Ok now. let’s talk reviews.  Do you read your reviews and will you read your listener comments?  What do you most like to see in the comments?

K Wendt: Yes, I do occasionally check reviews. I just want honesty.

IHS: Once a book is finished, then the work of marketing begins.  What do you do to spread the word about a new release?

K Wendt: I try to promote the release and links and such. I do my best to promote it as often as I can without overdoing it.

IHS: What advice would you give those who are thinking about becoming an author?

K Wendt: If you think you have story then just start writing it. The hard questions will be figured out from there.

IHS: Great advice! Now, what advice would you give authors who are thinking about doing an audiobook from their published book?

K Wendt: I would tell them it’s worth the time and the investment to do all forms available for books so that anybody can “read” them.

IHS: What was the best part for you about working with I’m Hearing Stories.  Would you recommend I’m Hearing Stories to other authors thinking about creating an audiobook?

K Wendt: For me, I’m Hearing Stories listens to what my concerns or suggestions are. They don’t stop until the project is right and ready. They also work with my craziness which is something I deeply respect and appreciate. I do and have recommended them to many authors and plan on doing any other book I write with them.

IHS: Thank you so much for that! What a fun time we've had chatting with you today and getting your input!  Okay, just for fun now, why don't you give us your Top Ten Craziest Accomplishments....
