IHS: Welcome, Muktananda! Thank you for being with us today. I’m really excited to have you here! Would you please tell our followers who you are, what city you're from?
Muktananda: Glad to be here! My name is Muktananda. I currently live in Delray Beach, Florida.
IHS: Delray. Okay, Great! What is the title of the book you just completed with us?
Muktananda: It's titled Conscious Awakening: A Journey into Light.
IHS: You self-recorded this book . That's a lot of work! What was your favorite part about bringing this book to life?
Muktananda: Learning about the whole recording process and everything that goes into it. That process was really interesting.
IHS: Whether fiction or non-fiction, books are truly inspired work from authors. What was your inspiration for this book?
Muktananda: My spiritual guru, Sai Maa.
IHS: Is your primary business writing? If so, what do you do for fun? If not, what do you do “in real life”?
Muktananda: I write and teach that we are multi-dimensional beings and how to bring 5th dimensional consciousness into our 3rd dimension so called “real lives”.
IHS: Wow! Interesting! Okay, many authors are not audiobook listeners by nature. Are you? Have you ever listened to an audiobook before your own?
Muktananda: Once. Autobiography of a Yogi – Yogananda’s book as read by Ben Kingsley.
IHS: What were you most worried about when starting out with this audiobook process? Did the worry happen or was it unjustified?
Muktananda: No worries. I was in the hands of experienced professionals.
IHS: And, in hindsight, was there anything that you probably ACTUALLY should have been worried about instead?
Muktananda: I have so much to learn about actually how to read my book.
IHS: Let’s talk reviews. Do you read your reviews and will you read your listener comments? What do you most like to see in the comments?
Muktananda: I want listeners to be inspired enough to want to learn more.
IHS: Once a book is finished, then the work of marketing begins. What do you do to spread the word about a new release?
Muktananda: E-mail blasts, Facebook, Speaking engagements, Book signings.
IHS: All great ideas and very effective! Book signings especially, so people can connect with you in person. What advice would you give those who are thinking about becoming an author?
Muktananda: Just do it!!!
IHS: That's great, that's really great. What advice would you give authors who are thinking about doing an audiobook from their published book?
Muktananda: Doing an audiobook never occurred to me until so many potential readers suggested I do so.
IHS: What was the best part for you about working with I’m Hearing Stories. Would you recommend I’m Hearing Stories to other authors thinking about creating an audiobook?
Muktananda: Kimberly is great! So positive and encouraging. Yes I would recommend I’m Hearing Stories.
IHS: Thank you so much for your input! We’d love to get some more insight, so why don't you give us your Top Ten.
