IHS: Is your primary business writing?  If so, what do you do for fun? If not, what do you do “in real life”?

Rick: Now, it is. I taught Chemistry for 35 years before starting my writing and speaking career! If so, what do you do for fun? I ride my Harley Davidson motorcycle, swim, lift weights and read voraciously. I also enjoy my three daughters and three granddaughters! If not, what do you do “in real life”? I also lead transformational workshops for men and women around the world.

IHS: What were you most worried about when starting out with this audiobook process?  Did the worry happen or was it unjustified?

Rick: Hmmm- Probably just the audio not sounding good.

IHS: And, as a follow up, was there anything that you probably ACTUALLY should have been worried about instead?

Rick: No - Not at all

IHS: What was your favorite part about listening to this book come to life?

Rick: It was effortless on my part, pretty much!

IHS: Whether fiction or non fiction, books are inspired work from authors.  What was your muse for this book?

Rick: My life's work of healing myself and working with men.

IHS: Many authors are not audiobook listeners by nature. Are you? Have you ever listened to an audiobook before your own?

Rick: Oh Yes, I regularly listen to audiobooks when driving long distances.

IHS: When you were listening to your narrator auditions, what was it like to hear your book suddenly get a voice?

Rick: It was very cool! The stories came to life in my head.

IHS: Assuming everything you want from this book and audiobook comes true, what do you see as the greatest result for you?  What is your dream for your future that can come directly from this book and audiobook?

Rick: I hope sales are god of course. Also, I want this to be a model for my other books- as a continuing revenue stream.

IHS Let’s talk reviews.  Do you read your reviews and listener comments?  What do you most like to see in the comments?

Rick: I do read reviews. Ideally the result would be that my book moved and inspired people.

IHS: Once a book is finished, then the work of marketing begins.  What do you do to spread the word about a new release?

Rick: Through my websites and in-person, at my talks. I am a speaker.

2. You can influence people in a positive direction.

Rick: Well, work hard, set a time each day to write and get a writing coach for your first book. Oh, and don't write a book thinking you're going to get rich! Do it for the joy of writing and to get credibility for your other work.

IHS: Finally, what advice would you give authors who are thinking about doing an audiobook?

Definitely talk to Kimberley Hobscheid and I'm Hearing Stories to do your book!
